How do I prepare for
COVID-19? 

We are keeping safety as our top priority when it comes to COVID-19. Learn how the CDC and our team are preparing for possible cases. 

Do you have a family member with Alzheimer’s Disease? 

Alzheimer’s Disease causes problems with memory, thinking, behavior and can eventually interfere with daily tasks. 

What is personal care?

We believe in the difference that personal care can make with the elderly and the disabled. Learn what services we offer. 


What is the cost for in home care?

It depends on your insurance coverage. However, we do not increase our rates for private pay. We charge the lowest rates possible and encourage you to compare our rates and services to other providers.


What types of medical insurances do you take?

Although medical insurance is not required, we partner with many major insurance groups—except for Medicare. As Medicare requires you to be “homebound.” Homebound: You can only leave your residence for certain activities i.e.; medical care, doctors’ appointments.


Does IHS provide transportation?

Not only do we provide transportation in our company van, we also have secured Unowned Auto Insurance that allows us to drive our client’s vehicles at no risk to your loved one to provide comfort and ease of getting back and forth to appointments.


Do you provide 24 Hour Care?

We are proud to offer 24-hour care, however demand is high. Currently we do have a waiting list. Please contact our office to learn more.


What is skilled nursing?

Skilled nursing care includes services that require specialized training and certification. For example: IV infusion, wound treatment, specimen collection, PICC line maintenance, restorative therapy, injections and so much more.


Do you do short term care?

Yes, we offer intermediate care. For example, do you have a vacation coming up? Need someone to check in on your parents or family member? Having surgery and you are not able to help out right now? Have a work schedule conflict? Another family emergency? Calls us today so we can help.


What types of conditions can you help with?

We specialize in all types of chronic disease management. Including: congestive heart failure, diabetes, dementia/Alzheimer’s disease, infectious disease, surgical recovery, renal disease, and much more. Contact us to find out more.


Do we need a doctor’s order to start care?

No—we will bear that burden for you. We collaborate with all providers in our area to develop a plan of care, and treatment plan based on individualized goals.


Is there a minimum time commitment?

Our service visits are a minimum of one hour, and you can choose the frequency without commitment. We simply ask that you give us notice for cancellations with non-emergencies.


What does homemaker mean?

Homemaker services include any household chores, light cleaning, errands, laundry, medication assistance, transportation to doctors’ appointments, and even some pet care.


What is restorative therapy?

Restorative therapy was designed to help prevent complications of immobility, with the goal of keeping our clients functioning at the highest possible level. Our care team understands that everyone has different goals for their mobility and will require different techniques. We take pride in being able to listen and partner with our clients to meet their needs in order to maintain their independence in their own home.


What is personal care?

Personal care involves any hands-on care given by our dedicated care team, such as: bathing assistance, vital sign checks, restorative therapy, occupational therapy, dressing and grooming, massage, and other skin care needs.


I live out of town. Can you go with my mother to a doctor’s appointment?

Absolutely! We will be your eyes and ears. We will take notes, ask questions, provide a medication review, and follow up with you after attending and advocating for your family member.


Can you come to my grandpa’s home and see if it’s still safe for him to be there?

Yes, that is called a home safety evaluation in which a skilled nurse, after visiting the home, will make recommendations for assistive devices, such as, handrails, toilet risers, bath chairs you name it. In fact, we have access to many of these helpful items. Often we provide them at no cost to you if needed.


Do I have to pay ahead of time or is there a deposit required to secure your services?

No. You will receive a monthly bill after services are rendered. We believe that if you can trust us with your most prized position, your loved one then we can trust you to pay the bill.


What does it take to get services started because I need help now?

Give us a call. The first step is contacting our office so we can determine your needs.


Is my family member getting the best care?

Our caregiver team is background checked, bonded, first aid/ CPR certified, with at least 4 years of experience in their specialty. We provide 15 hours minimum of continuing education per year. So not only are we experts in our field, we truly love what we do—making a difference in the lives of those we serve. We have regular care conferences to include family members to stay up to date on concerns for their health, achievements, and areas of improvement.


Will my loved one have the same care giver?

Each of our clients is assigned a primary care giver. A care giver may get sick or go on vacation and we don’t want services to be interrupted. However, we will never send someone who has not been properly introduced to your family member.

We provide home care and health services in East River, South Dakota in the following areas:
Beadle, Clark, Davison, Hand, Jerauld, Kingsbury, Spink and Sanborn.
